Membership Process
One of the ways that we strive to maintain a safe community and abide by the law in regards to spicy education, is through a vetted, private members community. Membership is required for all social events and classes except "Intro to ______" classes. Membership is FREE. The process is simple:
- Fill out the highly secure, encrypted vetting form below.
- Your FetLife profile will also be reviewed, if applicable.
- For some applications, our staff will reach out to you to set up a video chat interview.
* We do not require references as we aim to be friendly towards beginners and people who have recently moved to the area.
Popular things that lead to rejected applications:
- Rude/ creepy/ thirsty FetLife profiles. We try to keep creeps out of our events.
- A history of not respecting others' boundaries.
- Dick pics as your main FetLife photo, so people are forced to see it without consenting.
- One word answers to the questions on the application.
- A lack of education for kink social etiquette and consent frameworks, due to being new. It's ok; take some intro level classes and try again!

* Acceptance is at the personal discretion of the sole studio owner, Raven. There is no "board" to appeal to.
* Just because someone is a "vetted member," does not mean that they are officially "safe" to play with. We do our best to screen for problematic people, but we cannot put a "golden seal of approval" on anyone. All people are responsible for their own actions. Black Bird Atelier is not responsible for anyone else's actions, and we teach that you should vet every potential play partner. We offer classes on recommended systems for this.
